This area protects a unique, narrow, partly marshy erosion valley connecting Boissower See and Neuenkirchener See via a stream. Its diverse habitats include extensive reed belts, vital slope forests, and spring-fed swamp forests. Additionally, protected marsh and mineral soil areas contribute to the varied landscape.
