Goldgrund is a nature reserve in Rheinland-Pfalz, situated directly along the eastern flowing Rhine, east of Hagenbach. Established in 1997, it protects a diverse mosaic of habitats critical for regional biodiversity. The area features site-specific, near-natural forest stands, alongside extensively managed grasslands dotted with bushes, hedges, and individual trees. Significant parts are also covered by important sedge and reed stands. Furthermore, Goldgrund encompasses near-natural still and flowing waters, providing essential ecosystems for a variety of flora and fauna. This natural landscape is preserved for its ecological value and the unique communities it supports.
