The surrounding mixed forest, with its diverse stands of pines, alders, ashes, and birches, provides a vital refuge. This undisturbed habitat is particularly significant as a breeding and foraging ground for the majestic White-tailed Eagle. Situated within the Nossentiner/Schwinzer Heide Nature Park, the area is also a crucial component of the wider Paschen-, Langhagen- and Gültzsee FFH site and the Nossentiner/Schwinzer Heide EU bird sanctuary. Its secluded nature ensures a well-preserved environment, offering a glimpse into Mecklenburg-Vorpommern's rich biodiversity.
