Tucked into the rolling landscape near the village of Weyher in the Palatinate, Haardtrand – Hinkelberg is a protected nature reserve in Rhineland-Palatinate. Covering about 26 hectares, this reserve was designated in 1991 to help conserve the unique habitats found along the edge of the Palatinate Forest. The area is part of the characteristic Haardtrand region, where the forested slopes meet open land, creating a rich mosaic of plant life and natural diversity. Its quiet woodlands and open spaces offer a valuable refuge for native species and reflect the region’s natural heritage shaped by centuries of interaction between people and landscape.
