Our native wild animals need areas where they can retreat undisturbed. This is why wildlife rest areas are particularly important, officially decreed protected areas. In these areas and around a wildlife feeding station, access is prohibited. This means that you are only allowed to walk on designated hiking trails and forest roads in these areas.
Wildlife quiet zones are important areas for mammals and birds where the needs of wild animals are prioritised. They serve to prevent excessive disturbance in response to increasing recreational use. Wildlife quiet zones may only be used for leisure activities on official paths during certain seasons - or in some cases throughout the year.
