Königsdorfer Forst

Fauna-Flora-Habitat Area

Königsdorfer Forst is a nature reserve of approximately 330 hectares. The former electoral hunting ground offers many interesting insights into varied English oak-hornbeam forests and woodruff beech forests. Since 2004, the nature reserve has been a European Flora-Fauna-Habitat (FFH) area worthy of special protection. The Königsdorfer Forst FFH area provides a habitat for protected bird species such as the gray-headed, middle-spotted and great spotted woodpeckers, as well as honey buzzards and nightingales.
