Landwiesen

Nature Reserve

Description & Map

The Landwiesen nature reserve is located in the district of Bad Kreuznach and the Rhine-Hunsrück district in Rhineland-Palatinate. The 154.47-hectare area was placed under protection in 1994 and extends south-east of the local community of Sargenroth. The purpose of the conservation area is to preserve and develop the biotopes located between the northern and central quartzite hills of the Soonwald and in the headwaters of the Lametbach stream. These include, in particular, species-rich wet meadows, typical mat-grass meadows and oak-alder-birch swamp forests.
