The Mönchgut: Having and Reddevitzer Höft area on Rügen island presents a remarkable natural spectacle within the Southeast Rügen Biosphere Reserve. The central feature, the Having, is a distinctive lagoon-like bay, deeply incised into the Mönchgut peninsula. This significant aquatic landscape opens southwestward into the Rügischer Bodden and reaches depths of up to eight meters. Its natural boundaries include the slender Reddevitzer Höft peninsula to the south and the Granitz region to the north. The bay also features narrow connections to the Selliner See and Neuensiener See, creating a complex wetland system.
