The Nahe Valley nature reserve from Boos to Niederhausen is located in the district of Bad Kreuznach in Rhineland-Palatinate. The protected area covers around 89.6 hectares and stretches along the Nahe from the local community of Boos to Niederhausen. The aim of the conservation area is to preserve the river landscape with its water areas, shallow water areas and the floodplain, which is characterised by distinctive plant and animal communities. At the same time, the protection serves to preserve rare and endangered animal species as well as for scientific purposes.
