Description
NSG Bellergrund preserves a distinctive mosaic of wet and dry habitats nestled within two structurally rich valleys. This unique environment serves as a vital sanctuary for a diverse and partly endangered array of flora and fauna. The area is also protected for its outstanding natural beauty and the remarkable variety of its landscape. Furthermore, remnants of historical mining activities are safeguarded, contributing to the region's cultural understanding. Since 2023, NSG Bellergrund is also part of the Diemel- und Hoppecketal with angrenzenden Wäldern bird sanctuary.
