Description

The Büngernsche and Dingdener Heide preserves a unique rural cultural landscape. It features wet and damp meadows and pastures, providing habitat for endangered wading, water, and songbirds, along with rare plant communities of moist and wet grassland. The area serves as an important resting and feeding biotope for diverse bird species. It reflects a traditional agricultural landscape from the 1920-1960 era, characterized by fenced cattle pastures, hay meadows, small pools (Blänken), field stables, and draw wells. Remnants of heathland, dunes, woodland patches, and arable parcels also shape its appearance. This valuable landscape contributes to the preservation of rare biotopes and its geologically significant features.
