The Hillebachtal Nature Reserve is a crucial part of a larger, regionally significant grassland valley system. It preserves a rich mosaic of habitats, including species-rich wet and moist grasslands, valuable spring fens, lean pastures, and mown meadows. These diverse environments are home to numerous rare and endangered bird species, such as the Meadow Pipit, Stonechat, Corn Crake, and Red-backed Shrike, along with a variety of unique insects and plants.
