It forms an essential part of the 'Wiesen im Springebach- und Hillebachtal bei Niedersfeld' FFH area. Here, you'll find species-rich montane hay meadows, unique for their distinctive flora and fauna. The area also serves as a crucial retreat and breeding ground for protected bird species such as the Meadow Pipit, the rare Red-backed Shrike, the elusive Corn Crake, and the colorful European Stonechat.
