Description

The Reinzelbachtal nature reserve preserves a valuable habitat for numerous rare and endangered species. It protects plants such as Water Avens, Great Horsetail, and Bearwort, which are on the Red List in North Rhine-Westphalia. The endangered Marbled White butterfly also finds an important refuge here. The area is characterized by a structurally rich biotope complex, encompassing near-natural water sections with tall herb communities and riparian woodlands. Particularly worthy of protection are the lean wet and moist meadows, as well as the lean meadows and pastures on the slopes. This diverse landscape makes Reinzelbachtal a regionally significant biotope network area, contributing substantially to biodiversity conservation.
