Description

The Schwarzes Haupt Nature Reserve, located west of Rösenbeck near Brilon, protects valuable habitats. It safeguards dry-warm grassland and woodland areas, which serve as crucial biotopes for many rare and endangered plant species. This area helps to stabilize the unique natural conditions of these sites and forms a distinctive transition between different natural landscapes, shaping the scenic character. As part of the European Natura 2000 network and the Diemel- and Hoppecketal bird sanctuary with adjacent forests, NSG Schwarzes Haupt plays a vital role in connecting biotopes within the region.
