Die Schutzausweisung erfolgt zur Erhaltung, Entwicklung und langfristigen Sicherung einer naturnahen Bachaue mit Altarm- und Auenwaldstrukturen als Lebensraum auentypischer und seltener Pflanzen und Tierarten.
