The Quellbäche des Eppenbrunner Baches nature reserve, established in 1991, covers about 94 hectares in the scenic Südwestpfalz region of Rhineland-Palatinate. This protected landscape is home to the headwater streams of the Eppenbrunner Bach, flowing through peaceful valleys dotted with ponds, marshes, and wet meadows. Visitors will find a remarkable variety of habitats here — from sedge meadows and fens to spring-fed woodlands, alder forests, and old-growth stands. Rocky outcrops and dry slopes add even more diversity to this unique environment. The area’s mix of water, woodland, and open land creates a rich tapestry of life and showcases the quiet beauty of the borderland region.
