Nature Reserve

Description & Map

The Reichelsteiner Bachtal Nature Reserve is located in the Rhein-Lahn district of Rhineland-Palatinate and covers parts of the local municipalities of Dahlheim, Eschbach, Gemmerich, and Weyer. The area extends east of the main town of Dahlheim along the Reichelsteiner and Wellmicher streams. The state road L 334 runs west and along the southwestern edge of the reserve. The approximately 84-hectare area was designated as a nature reserve in 1990 under the code 7141-027. It serves as a habitat for rare plant and animal species. The purpose of protection is the preservation and development of the area.
