Ringberg Nature Reserve, established in 1978, safeguards a unique landscape in Rheinland-Pfalz. It protects oak-wild service tree and hornbeam forests, sub-Mediterranean dry grasslands, and rare plant communities for scientific preservation.
The Ringberg Nature Reserve, located on the southern slope of the 400-meter-high Ringberg in the Nordpfälzer Bergland, was established in 1978. Its primary purpose is the preservation of the area's characteristic unique natural features. This includes safeguarding valuable oak-wild service tree and hornbeam forests, distinct sub-Mediterranean dry grasslands, and remnants of a tall oatgrass meadow. The reserve is also dedicated to protecting the diverse communities of valuable and rare plant species found here, holding significant scientific importance. The Strüterbach flows along its western and southern edges.
