The orchard meadows near Wehlen nature reserve is located in the Bernkastel-Wittlich district of Rhineland-Palatinate. The 128-hectare area was placed under protection in 1995 and extends along the western edge of Wehlen, a district of Bernkastel-Kues. The L 47 state road and the Moselle run not far to the east. The purpose of the conservation area is to preserve and develop the largest contiguous, largely extensively used orchard meadows on the Middle Moselle as well as the neighbouring shrub and deciduous forest formations.
