Woogwiesen Nature Reserve, along the Hainbach, is a sanctuary for rare animal species, especially migratory birds on their Jena–Provence route. It also preserves unique plant species and their communities.
The Woogwiesen, designated as a nature reserve in 1985, extends along the Hainbach in Rheinland-Pfalz. This area is a fundamental habitat for rare and endangered animal species. Of particular importance is its ornithological role, as the Woogwiesen serve as a crucial stepping stone on the bird migration route from Jena to Provence. Simultaneously, the site offers a protected environment for rare plant species and specific plant communities. The preservation of these natural features contributes significantly to maintaining regional biodiversity. The Woogwiesen thus provide an opportunity to observe untouched nature and its inhabitants in a protected setting.
