In the Eifel National Park, extensive forests and open landscapes are on their way back to wilderness.


True to the national park motto "Let nature be nature", nature develops according to its very own laws. This enables thousands of endangered animal and plant species to spread again in the special and newly created habitats. Rare animal species such as the black stork, eagle owl and wildcat find their vital refuges in the Eifel National Park. Experience the exciting process of the newly emerging wilderness up close: observe wild animals, hike through unspoilt mixed beech forests and enjoy fascinating panoramic views of impressive lake landscapes or across the open grassland of the Dreiborn plateau. Explore the region on your own or let our rangers and forest guides accompany you expertly. There is so much to discover - at any time of year! By the way: There are special rules here to protect sensitive species: Stay on the marked paths, keep dogs on a lead and only ride your bike/MTB on the designated paths. Smoking and open fires of any kind are also prohibited. Tip: Explore the most beautiful places in the Eifel National Park conveniently by public transport.
